Analisis Overlapping Signal pada Access Point Universitas Kristen Maranatha

Abstract

Abstract — The main objective of this research is to collect information on placement of existing access point of wifi@maranatha in Grha Widya Maranatha Building. As Provider of free Wi-Fi service in campus, IT Care Maranatha has responsibility to maintain a reliable Wi-Fi service to support lecture progress. Access point as medium signal transmission has been placed in every floor with certain of number. Which give an advantage because each floor is well covered by the signal. But it is also a weakness, because there is a possibility of signal overlapping from the other floor or even from the other building. Therefore, a site survey is required to measure an access point coverage and discover an overlapping signal. With collected information by site survey method, IT Care will able to compose solution to provide better free Wi-Fi Services.
